Hello everyone my name is Namira Hasnalma Aisyah and Im from 27 Senior High School Class X Science 3. So today I will tell you abou The Story Of Timun Mas and Narrative Text.

The Story Of Timun Emas

Orientation:

Mbok Sirni, she was a widow who wants a child to be able to help her work. One day, she was visited by a giant who want to give a child with the condition that when the child was seventeen years old, she must be submitted back to the giant. The giant would eat the child and Mbok Sirni agreed. Then, the giant gave cucumber seeds that should be planted and cared.

Complication:
 
After two weeks, mbok sirni saw there was one of the most large cucumber which is sparkling like gold. Then, Mbok Sirni split it carefully. Turn out a child, it was a beautiful baby named Timun Mas. After several years,Timun mas grew into a lovely girl. One day, the giant came to claim the promise from mbok sirni. Mbok sirni was very afraid of losing Timun mas. she asked the giant came back  2 years, as more mature, more delicious to eat,  then giant agreed. Mbok Sirni increasingly love Timun Mas,.whenever she remembered her promise, mbok sirni become anxious and sad. One night, mbok sirni dreamed, to make her daughter survive from the giant, she should meet the Hermit in Bald Mount. In the morning, she went there. In the bald mount, she met a hermit who gave her 4 pieces of small packages, those are cucumber seeds, needles, salt, and shrimp paste as an antidote. After getting home, Mbok sirni gave all of the packages to timun mas, and she asked to pray.
The next morning, giant came again to claim the promise. Timun Mas told to get out through the back door by Mbok sirni. The giant chase. Timun Mas remembered the package, then spreaded cucumber seeds. Miraculously, the forest became dense fruit cucumber field. The giant ate all cucumber  but it actually adds to the giant power. Then Timun Mas sprinkled gold needle, in a flash, it grew up to be bamboo trees which are very high and sharp. With a bloody foot giant continued to pursue. Timun mas unwrapped salt and poured it out. Instantly the forest changed into the vast ocean. With the big power, the giantcan pass. 
 
Resolution: 

The last, Timun mas sprinkle shrimp paste, then it immediately formed into a boiling mud of sea and made the giant death. "Thank God, you have to protect your servant" Timun Emas thanksgiving. Finally Timun Mas and Mbok Sirni have happy family and peaceful life.
 
Coda:
 
The lesson we can take is that we should not give up with all the problems of life that happens in our life. Because every problem there must be a solution. And we always have to remember that we still have God to pray and say our hope.

NARRATIVE TEXT:
Narrative text is a story with complication or problematic events and it tries to find the resolutions to solve the problems. An important part of narrative text is the narrative mode, the set of methods used to communicate the narrative through a process narration. The purpose is to amuse or to entertain the reader with a story.
 
Generic Structures of Narrative Text:

1) Orientation
Sets the scene: where and when the story happened and introduces the participants of the story: who and what is involved in the story.

2) Complication
Tells the beginning of the problems which leads to the crisis (climax) of the main participants.

3) Resolution
The problem (the crisis) is resolved, either in a happy ending or in a sad (tragic) ending

4) Re-orientation/Coda
This is a closing remark to the story and it is optional. It consists  of  a  moral  lesson,  advice  or  teaching  from  the writer
 
The characteristic:
– Past tense (killed, drunk, etc)
– Adverb of time (Once upun a time, one day, etc)
– Time conjunction (when, then, suddenly, etc)
– Specific character. The character of the story is specific, not general. (Cinderella, Snow White, Alibaba, etc)
– Action verbs. A verb that shows an action. (killed, dug, walked, etc)
– Direct speech. It is to make the story lively. (Snow White said,”My name is Snow White). The direct speech uses present tense.
